Billing & Credits
Why was I charged for an insurance check?
A charge always maps to one real check — duplicates, reuse and skipped work are not charged.
Quick answer
A charge is only made when a check actually runs. Duplicate requests for the same patient and coverage collapse into one charge, a still-fresh result is reused rather than re-charged, and skipped work costs nothing. Your usage is on Billing.
Credits are reserved before a service runs and only finalized when it completes; otherwise the reservation is released back to your balance. Every movement is recorded, so a charge can always be traced to a specific check.
