How often does Sera re-check insurance?
A verification older than 10 days before the appointment is re-run automatically.
Quick answer
If the last successful verification for the same coverage is more than 10 days before the appointment date, Sera re-runs it automatically. Exactly 10 days does not trigger a re-check.
Freshness is tied to the coverage, not the patient. If the carrier, member ID, group, plan or subscriber changes, that counts as different coverage and a new check runs — an old result can never suppress a check a new plan requires.
Re-checking only applies when your timing is set to immediately after booking. With one day before the appointment the check already happens right before the visit, so the setting is hidden and switched off. The 10-day rule is fixed in this release.
